Further fun with Fondant
So these are lotus flowers made with Jasmine flavored fondant.
I basically took the usual marshmallow fondant recipe, and substituted half of the "water" in the microwaving stage for extract.
It was pretty wow!
And then with the extra fondant I made "truffles". Just dipped round balls of fondant into melted chocolate. Also delicious!

Mario Cupcakes!
This probably dates me but I'd say the Nintendo (NES) was pretty much the most influential electronic item of my childhood. And for me, the most mind numbingly played game was Super Mario Brothers 3. It's easily 8+ hours of your life to just play it through continuously but it never worked like that. There were always interruptions even during summer vacation like 'lunch' or 'dinner' or 'clean your room' or 'you should go outside and play'. And in those hours away from the TV, you were still thinking about the game BECAUSE THERE WAS NO SAVE....
Heaven and Hell Pig Cake
This past weekend Nicole and I made a cake for our friend's post-wedding ceremony bbq. The cake theme was "flying pigs" for reasons that have nothing to do with marzipan pigs being good luck in parts of europe. However, given the great love that some of us have for bacon and roast pig the project quickly devolved into two separate cakes.
