Description
In my personal opinion this is even better than what they have at the chinese restaurants. In fact it might be the *best* pork ever to enter my mouth (and that's saying a lot).
Ingredients
| 1 | Pork Belly (Whole Block) | |
| 1 | clv | Ginger |
| 1 | clv | Garlic |
| 1 | bn | Green Onion |
| 100 | ml | Mirin (Sweet Cooking Rice Wine) |
| 100 | ml | Soba Sauce |
Instructions
1. Cut the bottoms off of the Green Onions, peel the garlic and ginger (there is no need to cut them smaller). I use a couple tablespoons of the pre-minced jarred stuff and it really makes no difference.
2. In a pot of water large enough to fit the block of meat, place meat, Garlic, Ginger, and Green Onions. Add water till the ingredients are covered and boil for 30 minutes.
3. In an un-greased frying pan cook the meat rotating occasionally till the sides are browned. Add sauce and roll the meat around in the sauce until the sauce reaches a sticky consistency. (I often add extra sauce because the sauce is pretty awesome and can be poured on a token vegetable side dish).
4. Slice and eat.
